Does it actually get hot, or is it just fleece?
It genuinely heats. There's a heating element through the lining, run from an inline controller with five levels. Level one is a gentle warmth you'd wear all evening; level five gets hot enough that most people turn it back down after ten minutes. It reaches temperature in about a minute.
Is it safe to fall asleep in?
That's what the timer is for. Set the auto shut-off to 1, 2, 4, 6 or 8 hours and it switches itself off. Don't run it with no timer set, don't use it folded or bunched up, and don't put another blanket over the top while it's on.
What size is it?
One size, cut deliberately oversized. It comfortably fits most adults up to roughly a US 18 / UK 22, and the hem reaches the floor on most people up to about 5'10". If you're taller it sits closer to ankle length.
